The Ohio Horseman's Council Inc. (OHC) is a non-profit corporation organized in the state of Ohio to provide a vehicle for equine owners and supporters to share ideas and suggestions for all horse related issues, through education, organized trail rides, and other social and service functions. We provide resources to promote the building and maintenance of bridle trails throughout the state of Ohio and provide financial resources and volunteer services to fellow organizations that support equine related activities.

First Edition of the 2013 OHC Trail Guide
Have you seen the new insert in the May issue of the Corral? The first edition of the 2013 OHC Trail Guide is in there. This is an effort between OHC and the Horsemen s Corral to put together a dozen or so maps on different trails throughout Ohio in a special insert that you can take with you on trail rides. Hopefully we can continue this effort once a quarter with maps of different trails each time. The maps were cleaned up and done very well by our very own Reuss Griffiths from Medina County Chapter. Great job Reuss! I think I may recognize those two are on the front cover. Do you?

Shooting Range proposed for Hobey Hollow
ODNR is proposing a shooting range in Hobey  Hollow in Shawnee State Forest.   If it is accepted  Hobey Hollow Bridle Trail will close.   Please let the ODNR know how you feel about this.  Email addresses are below -

Grant Winners for 2013

The following Chapters were awarded $500 grants for their projects -

NE Region - Cuyahoga for trail maintenance and improvements

NW Region - Erie for a picket line at Edison State Park

Central Region - Licking for a new shelter house at Dillon State Park

SE Region - Belmont for a 24x40 shelter at Barkcamp State Park

SW - Brown for trail repair at East Fork State Park

W.I.F.E WITH HORSES by Ransae Lindamood-Hall

Ransae Lindamood-Hall (Montgomery County OHC member), Writes About Her Horse Camping and Riding Experiences in Ohio in Her New Book:

W.I.F.E. (woman in fun environment) WITH HORSES

Ransae spent 5 years on this project and OHC is very proud she is one of our own!  She is donating a portion of the proceeds to Montgomery County OHC for Sycamore State Park.  For more info check out the flyer.
